
Mel Lastrina is originally from Portland, Connecticut. After earning a BFA Acting degree from Elon University, she moved to California in 2010. She recently received her MFA in Dance from the University of California, Irvine. Her professional career began at a young age performing in musical theater shows, including the Broadway tours of Oliver! and Showboat. She was a dancer in the Radio Disney Tune Troupe, and performed in venues all over New England, including opening for Britney Spears. She was a resident dance soloist at Foxwoods Resort Casino. For years Mel competed with dance both nationally and internationally with the Dance Connection, and won regional and national titles for her solos. Mel has been featured in music videos with Loui & Scibi, Kimberly Caldwell, and Eva, as well as commercially, and performed in Los Angeles in the jazz cabaret group, The Beauties. She is currently a member of the contemporary ballet company, Reach Sisters, and continues to choreograph, and teach dance and Pilates at South Coast Conservatory in Orange County.
